The Little Gym International Opens 40 New Locations since 2004, Tops 200 Mark
Scottsdale, Ariz. - With a growing worldwide emphasis on building skills and self-confidence in children, The Little Gym International continues to grow by leaps and bounds -- opening 40 new U.S. locations in the past 12-months alone and crossing cultural boundaries in 15 different countries.
The Little Gym International, a global franchise of children's gyms offering motor-skill development programs that boost coordination and confidence, has for 29 years helped millions of children worldwide develop physical, intellectual and social skills. Built on the principle that ''motor skill development made fun builds confidence that leads to a lifetime of success,'' The Little Gym International opened its 200th location in March, and projects to add 35 gyms to the tally by the end of 2005.
''We have built a reputation here and abroad as the leader in motor-skill development programs for children,'' said Robert Bingham, CEO. ''We continue to increase our expenditures every year on franchise owner's support to ensure that every location carrying The Little Gym brand has the ultimate training, plus the business and curriculum tools they need to maintain quality. That's how we keep our position.''
At the same time it has increased its location count, The Little Gym International's revenues have also consistently grown. In fact, the company has experienced system-wide double-digit sales growth ranging from 18 percent to 30 percent every year since 1997.
The Little Gym has also successfully broken into several new markets in the past year. With the recent signing of a franchise agreement in Edina, Minnesota, a suburb of Minneapolis, The Little Gym International will now have a presence in 19 of the top 20 markets in the United States. Only Detroit remains undeveloped.
Worldwide, The Little Gym is already successfully operating locations in 15 countries, and has recently added Canada to the map, with a franchise set to open in British Columbia, Canada in May. The Little Gym has several locations operating in Singapore, Thailand, Japan, Korea, Hong Kong and the Philippines, and is looking to expand further into Asia. The Little Gym expects to expand into mainland China in early 2006.
''Because parents today care so much about the well-being of their children, The Little Gym will continue to thrive here and around the world,'' Bingham said. ''We see a bright future for the company as a whole and for all of our franchise owners, and will continue to focus on our commitment to making a positive impact on children's lives through the non-competitive, skill building curriculum that our gyms offer.''
