Description I have a wholesale pattern company for sale in the quilting industry. It is called Quilt in a Box and Runners in a Box. There are 18 different patterns for the Quilt in a Box and 6 different patterns for the Runners in a Box. The patterns are sold to quilt shops in packages of 6 patterns. The packages include, 6 patterns, 6 boxes, labels, tissue paper, and shop cutting directions. The quilt shop makes a sample of the pattern and packages the boxes with their fabric and then sells the kit. You do not provide the fabric, only the pattern and the packaging.
This is a great in-home business. The inventory does not take up much room and shipping is easy to do from home. What the business needs is exposure, which there are several opportunities for. I did the most business when I attended the International Quilt Market, which is held twice a year. Another easy marketing tool for this business would be email or mail campaigns. Putting the business in front of your customers sells the product. You do not have to have quilting experience to run this business but it would be helpful. Included with the asking price: Master copies of all pattern, customer list, supply sources, enough boxes and supplies to get started, and packaging info. I can provide quilt samples for a small fee. I ran this business while owning a quilt shop and the two went well together, it was an additional income stream. I have since closed the quilt shop and no longer have the desire to market the business. There is excellent cash flow because the cost to put one package of 6 together is less than $2 and I sold each package of 6 for $15 for the Quilt in a Box and $18 for the Runners in a Box.
