Description  This small facility was established in 1993 by an Italian company, specialized in serving the leading European department stores and chain stores on a private label basis. This manufacturing plant is the second facility that the Italian manufacturing company set up in Eastern Europe in the early 90s, in order to win the rising challenge of Far Eastern competitors. It is located on the 2nd floor of an industrial building, well served by the public transportation system; the operation is well organized with trained and experienced management in place. All of the equipment was bought in Italy brand new, including 29 professional multi-purpose and customized sewing machines (Rimoldi and Durkopp brands). The Italian ownership is proud of the perfect maintenance of the equipment, which has been assured through training a local engineer who has been in charge of maintenance since 1993 up to now. The facility manager is a Bulgarian lady in her 40s, who was entrusted with the task of coordinating the set-up activities in late 1992 and put in charge of the management when the operations started in 1993. The operations were stopped in early June, 2005, since the Italian owner was recovering at that time after a heart attack and is planning his retirement at present.
