Description Coal Company is seeking a buyer and/or joint venture investor on the sale of the company for all assets including the mineral rights to approximately 22.76 million tons of high-BTU thermal coal and facilities. The Coal mine is privately owned and has a long history of operations but is currently non-operating. The Company is a Chapter C Corporation, chartered under the laws of the Commonwealth of Kentucky. Willis Engineering, PC has prepared an appraisal of the assets of the McCreary County, Kentucky Coal Company. The assets consist of the preparation plant, related facilities, rail siding, shafts and slope and the reserves in the Stearns # 1.5 and Stearns # 2 seams underlying approximately 5,850 acres of the total 27,000 acres. Ownership is willing to facilitate the buyer for asset transfer and production ramp-up period and will consider debt/mezz financing to facilitate the reopening of the operation; repayment to be negotiated from contractual sale proceeds over a term to be negotiated. Alternatively, an off-take agreement with potential customers such as Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) and Kentucky Utility Power Company could also facilitate adequate debt financing.
