Description  - The tallest wooden roller coaster in Florida, affectionately nicknamed, ''Woody'' needs a new forever home. - The 100 ft tall Dania Beach Hurricane coaster, part of the Boomers of Ft Lauderdale entertainment complex, sits on 18 acres of highly sought after real estate that borders I-95. - The coaster cost $5M to build in 2000 and is estimated to cost $3M to take down, rebuild and re-track (not including shipping, foundations and environmental requirements). - To rebuild a duplicate the same coaster is estimated to cost $10M and take a minimum of 18 months to open. - A savvy investor could probably move the Hurricane, reassemble it and be operational in 6-8 months for LESS THAN HALF the cost to build a new coaster! - It would be a great addition to an entertainment venue, a beachside landmark, or a mountain retreat. Its wood and steel construction would accentuate any landscape without overpowering it. - With being one of only 112 US wooden coasters, it could certainly become a bucket list adventure! - The coaster was designed by Jules Ross of the Stand Company and built by CoasterWorks, Inc. with more than one million feet of lumber and 8 million pounds of concrete. The coaster was up to date on inspections and in fine working order when it closed in April of 2011.
